Join the midwest’s hottest brass group for night of big hair and big brass! Rock out with The CSBQ as they cover popular 80’s music from three decades: the 1780’s, 1880’s, and 1980’s! From the big wigs of Mozart to the big hair of Guns n’ Roses, music from the 80’s is covered in a whole new way.
This show features The CSBQ covering famous classical and opera music as well as rock and pop tunes on trumpets, trombone, horn, tuba, keyboard, guitar, drums, and unique electronic brass instruments. The first half of the concert features music from the 1780’s and 1880’s including arias from Mozart’s The Magic Flute and popular selections from Bizet’s Carmen. On the second half of the show, The CSBQ goes big with innovative and fun covers of 1980’s rock and pop tunes by Queen, The Police, Toto, Journey, Michael Jackson, and Guns n’ Roses. Joining the quintet to rock out on drums is Twin Cities virtuoso percussionist Reid Kennedy.
The concert is at the beautiful and historic Parkway Theater – one of the last remaining independent single-screen movie houses in the Midwest. Beverages and concessions will be available in the theater lobby, and guests are encouraged to bring food and drinks from Pepito’s Mexican Restaurant, connected to the theater, into the show. The Parkway is located at 4814 Chicago Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN 55417.
