Adult Groups and Education

Adult Education at Hennepin Church takes on a variety of forms. From Sunday morning classes to weekday and evening opportunities to small groups and support groups, we try to offer everyone the chance to create a circle of people in which they are known and can nurture their faith.

The Adult Nurture Committee provides oversight and planning for adult learning at Hennepin. Their role is to listen to the congregation, to identify areas of interest and to plan for classes and groups that will support on-going spiritual formation. They seek to do this for adults of all ages.

Our church has chosen as a theme for the coming year, “Practicing Beloved Community” and this committee wishes to focus on this in a variety of ways in adult education. While content is important we hope to shape the focus on this theme and lean toward understanding ways we practice being community with each other in all the ways in which we interact.

So, besides opportunities on Sunday, we will be offering new groups meeting during the week and in other parts of the Cities. There will be groups focused on writing, meditation, yoga, life issues, Bible study, and theology. All will focused on helping us integrate our faith and our living with beloved community.

We are open to ideas of classes and groups you would like to participate in, or even facilitate. We want to hear from you! Let us know what is nagging you or what is making your heart sing. Email Sally@haumc.org with your ideas and desires for new ways to create community at Hennepin.
