The Hennepin Archives and History Committee was organized in 2002 by a group of five church members who believed that the documents, books, photos and other artifacts that tell the history of the church should be preserved, organized and made more available to all. Soon after these members tackled their first challenge – carefully moving the contents of a walk-in safe packed with historic treasures. The collection includes antique bibles dating to the 18th century, a nearly complete set of church bulletins since the early 1900s, records of more than 100 church groups and committees dating to the church’s beginnings in the 1870s as well as recorded sermons, musical performances, architectural drawings and motion picture film. We are working on the creation of a catalog of the collection’s holdings with the goal of making it available for members and other researchers right here on our church website. Stay tuned!
