Kjerringsleppets

Kjerringsleppets is a women’s book group that meets the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30-7:00. Taking its name from a story told in Sue Monk Kidd’s The Dance of the Dissident Daughter, the name is a Norwegian word meaning ‘women on the loose’. The group reads books that have been collectively chosen. It is always open to new women. Periodically, they host an overnight retreat. They read a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction, always asking the question: ‘So, where did we see the face of God in this book’? A list of the books being read in upcoming months will be found in the Sunday Spire, the !nSpire newsletter and on the website. Questions can be answered by emailing Sally@haumc.org.
