Pastor Bruce Robbins and Larry Dunbar are leading a group of Hennepin members on a two-week mission project to Cuba in October. Learn about the work they did and their impressions of Cuba.

CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON
This festive holiday event will feature a special luncheon and music by the Plymouth Rockers, a Senior Chorus organized in Plymouth, MN in 1991. Members are all 55+ and come from many suburbs and Minneapolis. An ensemble of 30 -35 members will entertain with holiday music and lead a sing-along. Reservations due by Dec. 6.

BAKKEN MUSEUM – ELECTRICITY, A to Z
The Bakken Museum is a unique museum, devoted entirely to things electric. It began in 1969 at Medtronic Co. as a collection of early electrical therapeutic devices, and now includes an extensive library and many examples of electrical devices. The museum is housed in an expanded mansion on the southwest shore of Lake Calhoun. $5 fee.

Lori, a Hennepin member and one of the leading observers of Minnesota politics, will preview the 2010 legislative session and gubernatorial race, and describe the larger trends she sees affecting Minnesota in the coming decade.

Enjoy a special Valentine luncheon and program. The award-winning Four Seasons Barbershop Quartet will entertain with a variety of songs including popular barbershop favorites, heart-warming hymns, and even a love song or two. Reservations due by Feb. 7.

Mike has taught history at all levels for 50 years. His program last year on the Civil War was so well received that we have asked him to return. This time he will speak about Mary Todd Lincoln.

HIDING IN THE OPEN at the History Theater of Minnesota
This play tells the amazing story of the escape and survival of two young sisters, Polish Jews, in Nazi Germany. The play is based on the autobiographical book by Sabina Zimering, a retired Minneapolis eye doctor. Tickets are $23. Seating is limited. Paid are reservations due by Feb. 28.

Bob, a Hennepin member active in the preservation movement, will talk about the history of changes on the land where Hennepin now sits, and how that illustrates the continuing tension between the values of preservation and the values of change.

BOB ONAN as AN AUTHOR
Bob, a long time Hennepin member, lawyer and engineer, will discuss his novel, Taming Storm Surges. This story merges the issues of climatology, health care, ecology, and wildlife preservation in the setting of Bangladesh.
