Volunteer Opportunities

We invite you to get involved with the youth at Hennepin Church. Please use this form to let us know the areas where you'd like to help or have questions and the Youth Coordinator will contact you shortly.

Below are just some of the ideas and events coming up.

Dinner Theatre Helpers (2-4 people)

November 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Dec. 4,5,6

Eric Powell Holm will direct the play and provide overall
guidance. The helpers will assist the youth with: publicity, ticket sales, meal
planning and prep, set creation and costumes.

Movie Nights (1-2 people)

December 13, April 18

Select movies, set-up movie theatre, make the popcorn, etc.
Lead discussion if desired.

Social Justice in Art (1-3 people)

Dates: January 10, 17, 24

Assist artist, Amanda Hunter, in helping the youth with this
special project.

Potlucks/Parties/Celebrations (1-3 people)

Family Potluck -January 31; Super Bowl Party- February 7;
Senior Celebration-May 16

End of Year Family Picnic-May 23

Ski Trip (2-4 people)

February 12-15

Plan and coordinate details of the annual ski trip to Michigan.

Lenten Study-3 Simple Rules (2-4 people)

February 21, 28

The whole church is encouraged to read this book for Lent.
Youth will break into small groups to discuss and interpret into their daily
lives.

Service Projects (2-4 people)

March 7, 14, 28

Select 2-3 service projects within the church and/or the
community. The youth suggested Feed My Starving Children, Midnight Run (take
food to homeless like NYC mission trip), fix up Church of Youth
bathrooms, Community Meals, plan and staff a Date Night for couples in the
church providing a meal and childcare.

Koinonia Youth Retreat Coordinator (2-4)

March 19-21

Plan and coordinate youth retreat at Koinonia.

Hennepin youth activities)

Snack Supper Coordinator (recruit families to bring in snack
supper, order pizza when needed)

Sunday School Teachers –curriculum follows the lectionary
and provides art, video clips, questions and activities

Senior High Girls Club Leader (Currently a book club for 9th-12th grade
girls)

Wish List

Boys Club Leader (meet once or twice a month, finding an
activity of interest to them)

Junior High Girls Club Leader (meet once or twice a month,
finding an activity of interest to them)

Youth Band Leader (whether it’s to prepare a number for a
children’s service or weekly music to kick-off Sunday School—help the youth get
organized and started)
