Current Needs

Current Needs at the Dignity Center

Your generous donations of supplies, time and money help us meet the needs of our clients each day. Thank you for your caring support!

Got Backpacks?

Have you got a usable backpack, canvas brief case or other carrying bag that you're not using? Dignity Center clients could use carrying bags. Please bring them to the bins labeled "Dignity Center" or give them to the church receptionist, who will direct them to the right place. Thanks!

Wanted: Bike Mechanic Volunteers

Do you know your way around a bicycle? Can you change and repair brakes, true a wheel and change tubes and tires? If your answer is yes, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! Become involved in the Downtown Congregations to End Homelessness and their effort to provide low-income and homeless persons with a sustainable mode of transportation. Help us to repair and spruce up donated bicycles which will be given out by the Dignity Center and other outreach programs of the downtown congregations.

Volunteers are needed during the following times: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-9 PM and Sundays 12-4PM. Come once and fix one bike or come on a regular basis and fix many bikes. We need your help! Bikes, tools and bike parts will be provided.

Join us for our "Bike Repair Blitz" kickoff event the week of February 22. Volunteers are needed to repair bikes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday February 23rd and 25th from 6-9 PM, Saturday the 27th from 10AM-4PM and Sunday the 28th from 12-4PM. Stay for an hour or two or three to fix a bike, build community and make a difference.

Please contact Benita Warns at warns@pclink.com or call 651-642-1037 for more information and to sign up to volunteer.

Sandwiches

Clients of the Dignity Center are just plain hungry! We've noticed an increase in the amount of food people are eating. We serve approximately 50 sandwiches (5 bags) per day. Can you commit to providing a couple of bags of sandwiches once per month? It takes about 20 minutes to assemble 2 bags of sandwiches at home. Selected Sundays, there will be the opportunity to make sandwiches in The Social Hall, when downstairs for brunch. You can sign up to bring in sandwiches in the future. Thanks so much for your generosity.
